H A P P Y E A S T E R ♡🐰🐣🌸
It has been a while since I last posted. Is it even acceptable to call this post ‘April Goals’? We are already half way through the month.
I have been extremely busy with assignments and with only two weeks left, you’ll find me at my laptop, comfort eating my way through the biscuit tin. You can probably guess what I will be setting as a goal for next month.
This weekend I have given myself a break away from the world of essays. It is Easter after all. Instead, I’m enjoying doing absolutely nothing, spending time with family and friends, before getting back to work tomorrow. Especially after handing in my dissertation last week. Thankfully, I am not too far from the finishing line now. I’m excited to see what lies beyond it, yet a little anxious I must admit.
Below are the goals I set myself at the beginning of the month.
FINISH MY ASSIGNMENTS
I am aware that this one is quite obvious. Of course i’m going to finish my assignments, otherwise I would fail. Really, what I’m trying to say is that I just want to make it through the month without pulling my hair out. Last week I handed in my dissertation – hallelujah – but it wasn’t an easy ride. Monday night brought with it a night of tears, panic and god knows what else that was going through my mind. My laptop had decided to do an automatic update and there was nothing I could do but sit back and wait. Once it had finished, I expected to see my desktop, but something was wrong. It wasn’t my desktop and all of my documents had disappeared. My dissertation had vanished. Gone. Imagine the panic that spread through my body. Luckily it was rescued and I handed it in on Wednesday with a sigh of relief. Just two more assignments and an exam to go.
READ FOR PLEASURE
As a literature student, I have found that over the last few years, I haven’t really read for pleasure, apart from during summer breaks. My degree revolves around reading but I miss reading books that I want to read, in my own time, under no pressure and reading for enjoyment, not from a critical, literary perspective. I have so many books waiting in line; waiting to feel loved and warm. Somehow I managed to read a book that I had been waiting to get round to for ages this past week. It reminded me how much I love investing myself in characters and storylines.
I’m hoping that next month will be more exciting. For now, I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Easter weekend.
See you soon.
Love Georgie ♥
